The Essay Planning Structure

Almost like building a house. First the concrete slab is laid, then the framework goes up, then the walls, the roof, the windows and doors and finally the paint job. Then the build is complete!
First - the concrete slab.

  • The foundation of the story.

Is the base for the story and what it is all about,

The frame.

  • What is going to hold the story together.

The characters, the location of the story, the year or time period.

The roof.

  • Holds the story together at the top.

The story needs a solid starting point, then details what happens in the story and how it all ends up.

The events that make the story happen.
The walls, the windows and doors.

  • The details of what makes up the story and the events that happen in the story.

The paint job

  • Tidying up the story, the grammar and spell checks, to make it good to read, without stumbling over errors, particularly in spelling/typos.

Moving in or selling it.
Re-reading the story for continuity and ensure it all makes sense, then publishing it/submit it for marking.
