This is the first module in the Work Ready Series and it looks at Comms (how we communicate and how you should be communicating in the workplace).

All modules in this course have been downloaded (and paid for) from Tracy Marsh Publications. www.tracymarsh.com.

This is an excellent resource for all Year 11 and Year 12 students, who are nearly ready to enter the full time workforce. Even if you already have had part-time employment out of school hours, this course is an incredibly fantastic resource for you in obtaining and maintaining full-time employment.

The course I have tailored down specifically for my students is one of common workplace logic, interest and workplace learning.

My input experience has come from my working background starting:

In retail straight from High School, I did not know what I really wanted to do and needed some working with people experience. Though I had worked in the school holidays on my father's delivery run, I felt I needed more. I also worked part-time on Saturdays at my mother's service station - pumping gas and doing lubes.

Then to hydraulic engineering in sales and costing, with a huge pay increase.

Then to shipping (primarily in Australia and South East Asia).

Then as an employer of many hundreds of ex High School students in a large company environment.

Then ultimately operating my own company in shipping and freight forwarding, in Sydney.

Then as a photo journalist for two rural newspapers, working with schools, in the Coffs Harbour area . I am also a professional photographer, from the start of my working years.

My first University Diploma in Export Management was completed in my early twenties, as a M.A.I.Ex.

My Diploma in Shipping was completed also in my twenties.

Then academically - as a university student with a double degree, one in Multimedia (BEdMM) and the other in High School Teaching - Design and Technology with a Multimedia specialisation (BTechED).

Then finally as a High School teacher of eight subjects. (Design and Technology, Multimedia, Information Technology, Entertainment, HSIE, English, Computers in Music and Work Study Skills.

My website RMWebed houses all my students resources and I update the site weekly. My website is hosted by Ozhosting.com.au/
