Install the Software

Place the software DVD in the external HDD.

The disc 'should' auto-boot and take you to the installation dialogue screen.

If not - select the optical drive and the .exe Or setup file and continue.

Now you need to follow the prompts. It shall take a while. There will be questions such as language, country of origin, time zone, etc. Complete these questions as they are essential for the complete installation.

These questions will include information about the computer's operating components such as drivers and networking.

Once completed, you have working laptop with software installed.

Then it is time to install the software you need to use the laptop. This would include Office, Adobe CS, Snipping Tool, Vueprint Pro and Youtube Downloader.

The assessment task for this module is observation of the task being completed and the OS installed. This maybe by individual or teamwork.

When completed, go to the Control Panel and check on the following:

Installed Memory - RAM:

Processor:

System Type:

Computer Name:

Then on Computer - right click and ascertain the unused HDD space.
