Different Camera Types

Keeping it simple, we will look at three different camera types. All do the same thing, but some just a whole lot better.

1/. The DSLR camera. They come in many makes and models. We will look specifically at the school's Panasonic Lumix Cameras that have a zoom range from 25mm to 600mm. The school's two DSLR Lumix cameras are similar.

That's wide angle to long telephoto zoom, at the flick of the wrist, with a range of 20mm way out to a zoom of 600mm.

Plus there is 4K Video (20 minutes max on each frame section).

The same subject can look like the first image at 20mm and in the second shot at 600mm, the third at 800mm and the fourth at 1200mm

See below:

Getting closer action shot at 800mm
Full zoom 1200mm, see the lighthouse cottages and the shutters are open!
Below is a DSLR camera. almost a compact camera, but one that will shoot as well as a $3000.00 DSLR. This one costs around $600.00.

What's the difference?

A 20/720 zoom lens, compact smaller casing. Price about $500.00

There are of course better features and more programmable options, but basically the photos on both cameras are of a very high quality and thewide-angle to zoom ranges really work!

The comparison (not so great) option is a Smart Mobile phone

It has a 1x and 2 x zoom, but does no where near the range of a DSLR camera, as is the case with ALL mobile smart phones.

The camera is very basic compared to a DSLR. It takes a photo. Great for selfies and small group shots, but in no way a "real" camera. They are getting better, but zoom ratio's are hard to achieve in such a small casing.
