Enter your data in. If a single column, select what you need to sort and select. Then Data, Sort. Make sure you do not select the column header. In the first example is an alpha sort.

Where there are multiple columns, select all the columns and then in the dialogue box select sort by Column A - in the example LastName and select ok.
